From the very beginning of our shared creative life, my wife and I have explored collaborative art making. Sometimes this means both of us have our hands on a single work of art. Sometimes this means we are working discretely, but because we share a studio space, we are speaking words of advice and support into the new creations. Either way, it means our works resonate with a combined voice.
Recently we have been exploring the combination of drawing and watercolor as a way of processing our relationship to the land. In no particular order, my wife paints in watercolor, I draw on layers of transparency, and the images pass back and forth between us as a multi-strata collage of imagery.
